CONTROLLER

The proTEC Controller is a safety and emergency-stop controller for professional flame and SFX systems and serves as the central operator unit within the proTEC safety architecture. It communicates with all devices in the proTEC family through the Ethernet-based proTEC Safety Protocol.
The unit is designed for use at FOH or other central control positions where operators need a complete overview of the entire SFX system. As a desktop device, the controller provides clear monitoring and control of all connected devices.
Third-party equipment can be integrated into the safety architecture via Stageboxes using SIL3-compliant load disconnection. Within the emergency-stop chain, the controller enables safe shutdown of both proTEC devices and connected third-party systems.
Within the proTEC safety architecture, communication between all devices is handled through the Ethernet-based proTEC Safety Protocol.
Two safety functions are available: Emergency Halt provides a short-term safe shutdown, while Emergency Stop performs a complete shutdown with mandatory restart.
The system supports DMX, ArtNet, and sACN and extends existing show-control networks with the proTEC safety architecture. An integrated node function allows seamless network integration.
A device overview displays all connected proTEC units with status, fixture ID, PTSC (proTEC Safety Channel), and diagnostic error codes. This information can be accessed locally or via the integrated web server.
The system can be expanded with additional proTEC Controllers, Flexline Controllers, Stageboxes, and Powerguard modules. This allows SIL3-certified load disconnection up to 63 A CEE, additional Emergency Halt and Emergency Stop points, installation in 19″ rack systems or truss-mounted variants, and the assignment of multiple device groups that can be switched independently via dedicated emergency-stop functions.
